The Stem Cells Transplant Institute in Costa Rica offers government-approved stem cell therapies for patients seeking alternative treatment options.

Our physicians are board-certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and are members of the International Society for Stem Cell Application.

  • Stem cell therapy is not covered by most insurance carriers.
  • Unless you are currently living in Costa Rica, stem cell therapy at the Stem Cells Transplant Institute will require you to travel outside your home country and will require a passport.
  • Stem cell therapy using adult mesenchymal stem cells is not FDA approved and is not considered standard of care outside of certain cancers and rare blood disorders.
  • Stem cell therapy is in the early stages of development. A retrospective observational study published in Lancet Haematology in 2012 showed well over 1 million patients had undergone stem cell therapy involving the use of adult stem cells.
  • According to the US National Library of Health there are over 3,300 interventional studies evaluating adult stem cell treatment for many different diseases and conditions.
  • Although clinical trials have so far found stem cell therapy to be safe, there could be unknown risks associated with adult stem cell therapy.
  • There are no results from long-term, large scale, prospective clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of stem cell therapy in any diseases and there is no guarantee of safety or efficacy.
  • The testimonials provided by patients on our website are real but may not typical.
  • You are not participating in a clinical trial.
  • You will need to provide requested laboratory and medical records which may include ultrasound, MRI, x-rays or additional test results.
Fees for services start at:
  • $12,500 USD for adult mesenchymal stem cells cultured and expanded from human umbilical cord tissue
  • $29,700 USD for APT for neurodegenerative conditions
The fees include:
  • Stem cell treatment
  • Antioxidant therapy
  • IV Ozone therapy
  • IV Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy

Food, Transportation and Hotel Accommodations are not included.

Appointment Cancellation Policy Agreement

Stem Cells Transplant Institute is committed to providing exceptional care. When an appointment is canceled, it limits our ability to offer that time to another patient in need.

Due to agreements with our service providers, confirmed reservations cannot be canceled, as this allows us to maintain competitive pricing. Therefore, scheduled appointments and services are non-cancelable.

In the event of an emergency, a letter from a board-certified physician stating that you are unable to travel due to a medical condition must be submitted. Any additional pre-booked services may be forfeited. While we will make every effort to coordinate with our providers to reschedule or obtain refunds, adjustments cannot be guaranteed.

Once the physician’s letter has been received, reviewed, and approved, treatment must be rescheduled within two months.

If no prior notice is given, the full deposit will be forfeited.
